Bioinformatics Analyst III - Seibold Lab
- Facility *National Jewish Health - Main Campus
- Department Genetics
- Schedule - Shift - Hours Full Time - Day Shift
- Leads the work of co-workers providing effective communication,
direction, guidance and resources as appropriate.
- Provides leadership for bioinformatics projects.
- Leads the design and development efforts of major
bioinformatics-related programming projects.
- Writes advanced scripts to access databases and analyze
data.
- Leads the effort for preparation and teaching of courses and/or
demonstrations on the use of bioinformatics tools.
- Directs and guides DNA, RNA and protein sequence database
searches and the computational analysis of resulting data.
- Provides workflow direction to subordinates and serves as a
mentor to junior staff.
- Interprets complex biological information. Performs tasks to
reduce and consolidate output from software. Prepares data for
utilization by other scientists.
- Uses version control and other reproducible research
practices.
- Writes sections for reports and other dissemination of research
methods and findings.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: -Master of Science (MS) in bioinformatics,
biostatistics or computer science or related field required. PhD in
the computational field preferred.
- Work Experience: -A minimum of 5 years of applied experience
required.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: -Advanced skills
in utility programming (C Shell, Perl, BioPerl, JAVA, and other
languages) in a Linux environment, as well as designing,
developing, and programming databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL)
preferred.
- Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 At National Jewish Health, we
